My 7 Rules of traveling with kids.
1. Every restaurant is kid friendly if you show up right when they open.
2. Move hotels as little as possible and instead spend that energy actually enjoying where you are. The cost/benefit equation is better.
3. If you have children that nap splurge on a room with an epic view. You’ll spend a lot of time there.
4. Boats, bikes, and gelato are the cure to turn any day around.
5. Always ask locals “where is the best place to watch the sunrise/sunset?” and plan your day around it.
6. Alternate stressful activities with relaxing ones. (ie: crowded morning at the Louvre then quiet picnic on the Seine.)
7. Just say ‘no’ to cruises and all inclusive resorts. (With very few exceptions, in my experience, it’s a trick!)
Also as a general rule I would add: lower your expectations and remember #itsbetterthanstayinghome!
Would love to hear if you have any tips on traveling with kids!!
